Use this pane to:
Create a new attribute
Create a new attribute based upon one you have selected (Create Like)
Note: If you choose Create Like, the New Attribute window contains the copied syntax and matching rules from the original attribute, and copies whether it is single valued. You can change any of these as you create the new attribute.
Change an existing attribute you have selected
Note: Base schema attributes cannot be changed.
Enter or change the Name for this attribute to be stored in the database.
Enter or change the Object ID. This unique numeric identifier is based on standards from the IETF. Within those guidelines, your organization must have a method for assuring that every Object ID it assigns is unique. For an explanation of these standard values, consult the current LDAP standards available through the IETF web site.
The optional Description that you enter here appears in the attribute viewing pane, and can be used to help explain an abbreviated name.
For a new attribute, select desired values from the list for Syntax. The syntax of an existing attribute cannot be changed.
Enter a maximum value for Size.
If this attribute can have only one value, click the box in front of Single Value. If it can have more than one value, be sure the box is not checked.
To create or change more properties for this attribute, click the Advanced tab.
