Understanding Server Configuration

Each Directory server instance is governed by the parameters in a configuration set entry (configset). When you start a directory server, you refer to a numbered configset. The default configset is O.

To view the configset parameters of an active instance, expand Oracle Internet Directory Servers > directory server > Server Management. Select the instance in the right pane and click View Properties.

To change the parameters, you must change the configset itself. To do so, see Changing Configuration Set Entries for more information.

Each Directory server also has system operational attributes that affect the functioning of the server. When you select a directory server in the Navigation pane, its system operational attributes appear in the right pane. Most of these cannot be changed, but some can be. See System Operational Attributes for more details.
