The Cache tab enables you to configure local caching options for a running Oracle Names server. The values you specify remain valid for the current session.

Cache Operations

Flush Foreign Region Data:	Forces the Oracle Names server to clear all remote region information from the Oracle Names server's local cache checkpoint file, which has a default of ckpcch.ora.
Reload from Region Database:	Forces the Oracle Names server to check for any data changes made in the region database immediately. If there are changes, the Oracle Names server reloads all database service names, net service names, global database links, and aliases into the region checkpoint file, which has a default of ckpreg.ora.
Checkpoint Cache:	Forces the Oracle Names server to write its cache to its checkpoint file. This operation cannot be performed immediately. A wait time must be specified in the Wait field.
Dump Cache to Trace File:	Dumps the Oracle Names server cache to its trace file. This operation cannot be performed immediately. A wait time must be specified in the Wait field.

Perform Operations

Immediately	Choose to perform an operation immediately.
Wait	Choose to wait to perform an operation. Enter a time value interval in seconds. To cancel an already scheduled operation, enter a time value of 0.

Apply button

Choose to apply settings to the Oracle Names server.

Set Password button

If a password has been set, enter the password for the Oracle Names server.
