Configure this Computer to Use Directory Features

Once a directory is enabled for use, configure computers to use the directory for directory naming or enterprise user security.

To use a directory, specify the following information:

• Type of directory
  

• Location of the directory
  
• Administrative context from which this computer can look up connect identifiers

To configure a directory to use:

1. Select Directory Service Access configuration in the Welcome page, and then choose Next.

   The Directory Service Access page appears.

2. Select Configure this Oracle Home to use a directory server that is already set up for Oracle features, and then choose Next.

   The Directory Service Access, Directory Type page appears.

   Note: If no Oracle Context exists under the administrative context, or no Oracle schema exists, you cannot configure this computer to use the directory.

3. From the Directory Type list, select the correct directory type for the directory this computer will access.

   Note: The procedure varies at this point, depending on whether or not Net8 Configuration Assistant is able to authenticate with the directory server, detect an Oracle schema, or locate an Oracle Context. Net8 Configuration Assistant pages and their accompanying help will guide you through the remainder of the procedure.
