Directory Service Access Configuration Overview

Net8 directory naming and Oracle Advanced Security enterprise user security features use a centralized directory server to store entries. If you want to use these features, the directory needs to be set up for these features, and the computer from which you want to access the directory needs to know about the directory.

If the directory has not been set up for directory naming and enterprise user security features, follow the procedure in Configure a Directory for First-Time Usage to configure the directory.

If the directory has previously been configured one or both of these features, follow the procedure in Configure this Computer to Use Directory Features to use the directory.
