Settings
In the settings dialog you control the design features of the scrolling text window and set the texts you would like to show.
In the left part of the dialog you can select one of 5 text slots:
- From Text Field
- From File
- From URL
If you are using a text that is loaded from a file and the currently loaded text file is changed outside the program, the text inside the program will show the changes.
Files on the internet can be text files or HTML files. If they are in HTML, only the body text will be shown (if there are more than one empty lines, they will be cut into one).
In the right part of the dialog you control the program behavior and design:
- Font and font size
- Font color
- Alignment (left / center / right)
- Background Color
- Marker Color
- Eye Line marker (0..10)
- Line Height
- Margins
Below the preview text window you have some more controls, grouped into four sections of a tab control:
- Show Percentage: displays the elapsed percentage of the currently scrolling text (is correctly adjusted on speed change)
- Show % Buttons: displays 9 buttons on the bottom right corner of the main window, to jump to 10%..90% of the text
- Endless Loop: starts the scrolling process again, if the text has scrolled through completely
- Pause on Mouse-Over: The scrolling pauses, when the mouse hovers over the program window and resumes when it is moved out
- Mirror1: flips the text horizontally, for use with a mirror
- Mirror2: flips the text vertically, for use with a mirror
- Start on Apply: start scrolling immediately after Apply is clicked
- Start on Slot Change: start scrolling immediately after a text slot (1..5) has been changed
- Show Loading Message: show a text label on slot change
- Show Start Flag: show a flag image, when start was clicked
- Transparency: for values greater zero, the main window becomes semi-transparent.
This allows to see another window below the teleprompter, but notice that you can also set a transparent background color.
- Animate HUD: this will set how the control panels of the main window will show and hide
- Theme: Set a Dark (default) or Light theme for the interface
You can define global hotkeys to control the program
- Export: export the settings file for backup purposes or for use on another computer.
- Import: import a settings file.
Notice that the license info (if the program was activated) will be exported and imported too, so you can save settings to be loaded back on the same computer, without having to activate again.
If you want to export the settings to be used on a different computer, check the checkbox "Skip License Info".
In the bottom left corner of the setting dialog you can find three buttons to "remote control" the scroller (for instance from a second monitor):
Reset, Start/Stop and Hide/Show.
